Sunita Devi, from a small village, dreamed of opening a canteen to provide affordable and hygienic food to local workers and students. She faced numerous challenges, including financial constraints and skepticism from her community.
Sunita joined Gulab Self Help Group under the HSRLM scheme, where she received a small loan and training in food safety and business management.
Sunita got a loan of amount ₹65,000 to run her Canteen successfully. Despite the initial hurdles, Sunita's determination paid off. Her canteen now serves delicious and nutritious meals, attracting a steady stream of customers.
Sunita achieved financial independence and her monthly income of about ₹16,500. Sunita's success has not only improved her family's financial condition but also inspired other women in her village to start their own businesses.
